Once upon a time, Michael Murray told me about the angels he believed in, and his dreams:
“Each night I tell my son I will search for him in my dreams, each night a different thing. Tonight, I will be a small turtle, Jones, a friendly ladybug, and so across the multiverses and through the dream tunnels, we will seek one another.”
We would never have tried for ghosts, never imagined them, were it not for remarkable MM, who saw Ghost before we did.
He’s such a joyful, good man who reminds us of Elvis Costello mixed with a crazy angel, but cooler. He is the life force that drives Galaxy Brain magazine. The scores of artists who have contributed to 22 editions would all tell you the same thing: they’ve done it for him. They come to stand in his lights and get lit up by him, for just a moment.
I don’t think I’ve ever used the word “joyful”, but that’s MM and what it’s like to be in his orbit. He lives in technicolor, at least most of the time.
He continues to fight heart failure and lately, discouragement.
He has the very best heart, so this is a puzzle.
We want him to keep fighting, because of course we do.
We agree that all the ghosts are for him, because they have all been for him. Every one.
He also said:
“On that kind note I will leave you with this:
Dream well, dream well.”
