Children are a true blessing from creator. Here is a short story, my lil girl and her cousin from up the road were here playing while waiting to go to a halloween party last night. While waiting I guess they snuck outside without me knowing and it was kinda getting dark. I noticed they weren’t in the house so I went to yell for them outside. They came running from the bush and I didn’t think nothing of it. On the drive to the party I heard the cousin ask “what did you do with the lil mushrooms we picked”. My girl replies “I left them on the trampoline”. Still me thinking nothing until today I kept looking at the trampoline like something is calling my attention. I go over and look here it was a medicine that they found called fungus a powerful smudge. Not knowing that a lot of people are struggling to get this medicine, it is in need. These two lil girls went to get a whole bunch for us and I don’t even know if they know what they found. Yes it is true Creator works in mysterious ways. Children are a true blessing teach them the good ways of life.

Shane is a well known song composer and has music out there on alot of group albums. Shane is the composer of this brand new tribute which was made for all the children that are being found at these residential schools all across Canada. This song is performed by himself, along with his beautiful daughter Shaneyah Redstar, who is 8 years old. Shaneyah started singing at the young age of 6 years old and has since then found a great passion for singing. Shaneyah is from Enoch Cree Nation in Alberta.

Shane and Shaneyah truly believe that children are the future, that they are the next generation and it is important to teach the children the ways of the culture. Singing truly is a powerful medicine used for healing and they hope that everyone receives the healing that they need during these trying times, thru the drum and gift of song.
