As the old world I was born into gives way to another world, I find myself marvelling at the spectacle of this strange new thing. I’m drawn to forms which exist between states– two different civilizations, one brick and mortar, and the other weightless, electrical and digital. Somewhere between the constructed facade, the fury and force of the natural world, and the wild energy that escapes at the edges, I find myself going back in time in my own chronology to places that mesmerized me, funfairs, arcades, and roller coasters.

Velocity

Our eyes watered as we screamed from our carts. Our mouths wide open as the heavy carnival air poured in, filling us with a kind of unreal electricity, we sped and clattered, faster and more beautiful than anything we could ever have imagined.

Funfair

Everything dizzy and wonderful and hitting me at the same time.

Energy Fields

All of it spinning, disintegrating, mutating, as if a million dreams unfolding around you at once.

Snowlight

Racing into the invisible future, following the lights.

City Lights

In London, on Brick Lane, I pushed open a padlocked gate to reveal a view of the city. Then I disintegrated the concrete to reveal the structure of the light.

Emerging Lights

Every city eventually becomes a matrix of light and memories, emerging and receding.

A Cloud Outside The Window

Sometimes you wake up and the cloud outside the window seems to herald the end of the world, but then the cloud just floats on by, and the world doesn’t end, again. You make coffee.
