Mike Knippel

I met Michael online. Indeed, we’ve never met in person, but I feel like I’ve known him forever.  Between our fantasy hockey league, where Michael was my favourite trading partner, to Galaxy Brain submissions, we’ve built a friendship rooted in Michael’s positivity, genuine interest in me, and his words of encouragement.  I don’t write particularly well, but am better than I used to be, due to Michael’s encouragement. 

I also carried on a short email exchange with Michael’s father, who like me, had a career in the Royal Canadian Navy. We discovered my time was not much different than his time.  

I’ve been talking more with Michael over the past year, and enjoyed it very much.  He is a beautiful soul whose love for Jones vibrates through his bones. During a hospital stay last fall, I painted a portrait of Jones to hopefully give him a boost, and attach it here.
