Yael Friedman

Brooklyn, New York, USA

These, taken either in or around McGolrick Park in Greenpoint Brooklyn, or the Gowanus Canal also in Brooklyn (and one photo from the Oyster Bar in Grand Central Station, in that place beyond Brooklyn) draw on all that is quickening beyond the frame, ready to invade at any moment—good bad, beautiful, monstrous, sometimes all at once. Some are as fleeting as the flick of an eye, the closing of the shutter. Others seem to stand for what awaits, pregnant with everything that cannot be seen—visually or in time—ready for what will unfold, the endless possibilities that abound.
