If you want to see something
take a look at a list of mistakes that I’ve made
like I’ve never learned nothing
like the time that I’ve had’s all been pissed away

And I can see in the sunset
that the road from here on is more down than up
and I’m not given to hoping
but I hope that I’ve given you half enough

I’ve thought about leaving, but how would I go?
What’s left to believe in? I don’t know…

I don’t think I can teach you a goddamn thing
but I’m here if you need me
and I’ll try not to be too embarrassing

But if you can’t revere me, at least let’s don’t fight
